My birth certificate shows my mothers name as; Herminia Valdez - born in Havana, Cuba. She met my father at a race track in the US, where I am told my grandfather was racing horses, he owned. My father was abusive and when she wanted to leave the US with me, she was not allowed, as I was born in US. I have searched Michigan, Missouri, and Arkansas for a legal marriage certificate, but unsuccessful. Which, my suspicion was there was not legal marriage. I went to Immigration, but there is no record of her name applying for a Visa, or Passport. So, I was told she was more than likely under the age of 18 and traveled on her parents. Anyone knowing of a Herminia, who was in the US around 1956 - 1957, please contact me. I am 46 years old and a mother of 2 children and have tried every resource and would like to know of her, and my other relatives.
