Her father was Arcadio Abreu born on March 24, 1894 in El Cristo, Oriente, Cuba. His parents were Jose and Juana Abreu and they came from the Canary Islands. He had only one sister. My maternal grandmother was Eduvigis Marrero born on October 17, 1896 in Gibara, Oriente, Cuba. Her parents were Pedro Marrero and Ismaela Cruz and they were also born in Gibrara, Oriente, Cuba.
