Major General Calixto Garcia I~niguez (2) was father of (1) and it is he who who, in the Ten Year War, shot himself under the chin with a .45 and amazingly did not die; (2) lived to become the major surviving general at the end of the 1895-98 War of Cuban indepedence (sometimes known as the Spanish-Cuban-American War).
