Her father was Francisco Romagosa (1754-1796) born in Reus, Spain. Her mother was Magdalena Arbones Casanova, who died in 1793. When Magdalena died, Francisco went to New Orleans with his children and married again, although no other children were born. Gertrudis' brother, Juan Francisco, is the ancestor of the New Orleans Romagosas. There was another brother, Jean-Baptiste, but I don't have information on this family. A sister, Maria Candelaria, did marry in Cuba, like Gertrudis. Her husband was Jose Beltran born in Spain in 1770. They had three sons: Ramon, Jose Maria, and Juan Francisco Beltran Romagosa. I am in contact with the New Orleans Romagosas, particularly, Gerald Ramagos (french iinluenced spelling of Romagosa), if you are interested in that branch of your family. Let me know.
