I'm working on my kid's genealogy. Her father is Antonio Manuel Cué Sr. He's the youngest son of Dr. Pedro & Mrs. Cué. When they fled Cuba they eventually ended up in Austin, TX. Antonio (Tony) was 6 mo's old when they left. For the record...Dr. Pedro, Maria, & Julia are all deceased now. But Conchita, Teresita, Pedro (Pete) Jr., & of course Tony are all still alive & kicking. Conchita's 90 but she's still alive & kicking. Tony's the only one who had kids. He had a son, Antonio (Tony) Manuel Cué Jr. And of course our daughter Jennifer Lynn LeForce. Conchita's quite the story teller. As far as her husband goes I remember her telling me his parents were pretty poor. They had several kids. Then I think his dad died making things even tougher on the family. One of his sisters was sick & they couldn't afford to take her to a doctor. So he & at least one brother of his both decided they were going to become doctors. And they both pulled it off. They tutored rich kids so they could use their books too & pulled it off. As far as Conchita goes she comes from a wealthy family. Her mother's father was an architect & built some statue in one of Havana's cemetery that's supposedly still standing today. I believe she said her mom's parents came from Spain. Her father was one of the youngest DA's &/or Judge's Cuba ever saw. Dr. Pedro & Conchita's marriage happened in her dad's house so I've seen pics of it. Even in black & white it looked nice. Her mother died either giving birth to her little sister or the next child that also didn't make it. Her death was child birthing related & there was just the 2 girls. So her dad was a widow & married another woman. Conchita & her sister were sent to America for school which is how they learned to speak English. Her sister married a man named Divino. He was an architect too & built them the house they all lived in. I've heard it was like a Duplex where the Cué family lived on one side & the Divino family lived on the other. I think their dad was still alive when they left Cuba which is why someone had to stay behind & keep an eye on him. The reason Mrs. Cué got to come was because Tony was only a baby. Her sister stayed behind to watch their dad & got stuck there 20 years. Her husband & kids came on to America but she got stuck there & didn't get to see her own kids grow up. I've built them a tree @ http://www.geni.com & even included some pics. Please contact me if you can add any info or even help me research this family. Thank you. :) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
