His name was Jose Antonio Sousa y Costa, born in 1924. His father, Felix Luis Sousa y Valdez, was born about 1895 and his mother, Zoila Luciana Costa y de la Puebla, was born about 1904. They lived in Havana, with his siblings Angel Pedro, born in 1921, and Maria Louisa, born in 1923, but emigrated to New York in 1950's. My father was very secretive about his youth, so I do not know anything about him before he moved to New York. He also had a half sister named Estella Coruna, born in 1928.
