I am looking for an Ethel Banks who, according to the 1901 UK census was born in "W.SA. Agabama English"; she was aged 13 in 1901 and her parents were Joseph Gilbert Banks and Mary Jane nee Thompson. All their other children were born in England, but they appear to be missing from the 1891 census. Apart from any clues about her birth, I would be grateful if anybody can suggest the meaning of the "W.SA." Many thanks, Pete Dale
