We know that our grandparents lived and died in Oriente, Cuba. We immigrated to the US in 1960, (our parents, my brother and I) My brother did research once and discover we come from the Portuguese and not the Spanish. Other answers I've gotten seem to indicate that during the Inquisition Jews that were forced to convert and leave their country, immigrated to Jamaica and then to Cuba. This is the first I hear about Proenzas from the Canaries...thanks for writing..good luck with your search..... Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
