I have information about the Tapanes family in Tampa. I will say, however, that I have good photos of my great grandfather Cecilio Tapanes (b cir. 1850 in Matanzas) and he was extremely fair. His children were also--in fact several were blond. It is highly unlikely that there was Indian blood. I'm not a racist--I would be delighted to claim Indian ancestors, but I don't think that line of investigation will lead anywhere.
