Joaquin b. 1828 in Cabaiguan, Las Villas, Cuba, m. Catalina Eloisa PEREZ PINA, daughter of Jose de la Cruz PEREZ PENTON and Monica Josefa PINA DEL CASTILLO, born 1836 or 1838. They left Cuba during a civil war and moved with their children to Baltimore, MD, USA. They had 8 children - the three youngest were born in Baltimore. According to the 9 Jun 1880 US census, Joaquin continued practicing as a physician in Baltimore. After the civil war ended, they returned to Cuba, except for their oldest son, Jose, who married and stayed in Baltimore. Children from this marriage were: 1.
