A few weeks ago I asked on this list about how Cubans write the date. I appreciate the replies both on the list and privately. A network of baseball enthusiasts, of which I'm a member, needed to pin down the exact date that Jose Mendez signed a postcard that contained a team picture, thus the need to document the date. We are trying to establish games won by the extraordinary pitcher John Donaldson, whose color prevented him from playing major-league baseball.
