If you are able to find out who Eugenio's parent's are, I might be able to take you all the way back to the original Tapanes' in Cuba. In my case, I have documentation taking me back to the 1730's where the first Tapanes in my family tree was born in Cuba of a couple that was comprised of Carlos Tapanes who has emigrated from Genoa, Italy and his wife Angela Diaz who was born in Matanzas Cuba of Spanish parents. Let me know if you want more specifics. I have baptismal certificates and marriage certificates.

We are looking for information on the Rabelo family.Her grandfather was Gregorio Rabelo born in Cuba in 1886 and died in Key West,FL.in 1917. He was brought to Key West,FL by his mothers' sister Caridad Trujillo and he married Elvira Rodriguez,they later divorced.They had four children,Delio, Elvira,Juana,and Ralph. He may have been related to Ranulfo Rabelo born 1923 also other relations may have been Julio Rabelo and Estrella Vira. Also mention of Galecia,Spain and Cardenas,Cuba. Sofía was born in 1848 in Camagüey. Julia was also born in Camagüey but I am not sure of the year though it has to be close. I don´t know whether they are related to Enrique but certainly the year of birth and Camagüey are key similarities that could point to that. Julia was my great-great-grandmother and Sofís, her sister, was a famous poet. Maybe someone in your family has heard of a relative being a famous poet? That´s how I first heard about Sofía and later research helped me find who she was out. Julia married Virgilio Cordero and Sofía married Mariano Rodríguez. Again, in case anyone in your family recalls having distant relatives with those last names.
