My family keeps saying it was tuberculosis. around 1922. No one in my family knows the exact date. I show she was married to a Bienvenido Leyva whom had a Rafaela Leyva Diaz in 1912 or 1913. Bienvenido moved the family to Banes Holguin after the death of his wife. It's probably just a quincidence in the name. Let me know anyways how it trun out and if you have any other information on those two last names.

My mother gave me some old pictures, some of which use to belong to my great-grandmother Augustina Fuentes Martinez. One of the pictures was taken in Key West circa 1890's and it is of Jose Marti and another man. I asked my mother and she does not recall the picture. I believe it could be one of my Martinez relatives, but am not sure. It may also be a copy of a picture that was given out when he was in Key West in his quest for the liberation of Cuba. I have scanned it and will e-mail it if anyone is interested in the hopes that the other person in the picture can be identified.
