I'm trying to reach Alina Arce of Cuba, who left a message last year on a different bulletin board about the Lamerens and Gilly families in Matanzas in the 1820s. She seems to have changed her email address since. I do have information about the French origins of these families. Does anyone know how to reach someone in Matanzas who would be willing to look up birth records for that period? Pierre Force

Roma Davis was from Anasco, Puerto Rico. She lived in the Bronx, NY in the 1960-80s. I knew she had at least one son who died in his early 20s (drug related killing)in the 1960s. Roma died in the Bronx (Claremont Parkway). She had been my mother's and grandmother's friend. I have one small picture of her. En aquel entonces buscaba compartir mi informacion sobre tus parientes, que son tambien los mios. En Cuba hubo 7 hermano(as) que trabajaban en el circo, dos Chiuppani llegaron a Sto. Dgo. Uno de ellos (tus parientes cercanos) pudieron progresar economicamente, La otra persona (hermano) fueron de la clase pobre. De hecho, de nino recuerdo unas "primas" de ojos azules y pelo rubio como el sol, y vivian en uno de los barrios mas pobres de la capital. Recientemente, supe de un tal Giovanni Chiuppan, Italia vino y visito a mi prima hermana en la capital. Supe que Berges Chupani viajo a Cuba en busca de material para un libro sobre sus descendientes. Yo le envie con Blanca Coplin algo de la informacion que yo tenia. No se si le llego, y de eso hace 3 anos. Creo, si mal no recuerdo, tu y yo contatamos a travez de un mediador (no recuerdo el Nombre). Mi trabajo aqui (Medico) no me da mucho tiempo para disponer en investigar, empreo tengo entendido que hay mas personas que ya estan arduamente investigando.
