The Chibas white dentist was a sugar cane plantation owner that was inherited from his ancestors, and this white Frenchs came from Haiti when the whites where thrown out of Haiti they settle in Gtmo. like many other french families. Some had two wives one black and one white in two different houses. What is the connection between both Chibás families? Were the black Chibás originally owned by the white Chibás, or is there a different connection? Was the dentist Eduardo Chibás related to the black Chibás?

Eduardo Chibas the white dentist was Eddy Chibas the politician uncle, he used to live in Marti street in Gtmo. There was a Black family Chivas spelled with v also a dentist who lived in Luz Caballero Street Gtmo. There was a costume to name the black family of the white family whit a variation in the spelling to differentiate the two families. My father was a friend of Eduardo Chibas when they where alive. They also had a Pharmacy run by a Chibas female pharmacist, I Pedro A. Perez street,Gtmo. Hello, The information I have about the Noblet family is limited. Eugène Marie Rousseau (o Santiago de Cuba 03/09/1827, b 05/11/1827), married 24/09/1866 in Guantanamo Emilia Chibas y Noblet, daughter of Juan Bautista Chibas and Lucia Noblet. Juan Bautista is the owner of the coffe plantation « Los Naranjos ». It was a second marriage for Eugène Marie. When they arrived in Cuba, the Rousseau settled in Guantanamo, they had a coffee plantation "La Virginie" in Guantanamo, but I don't know exactly when and how they obtained it (with the help of the Noblet family ?). Santiago Rousseau (o New-York + Santiago de Cuba 17/04/1835) married Uranie Félicité Noblet, daughter of Jean Marie Noblet (o Bordeaux) and Marie Nicole Paysan (o Saint Domingue). Among their sons, I already mentioned Eugène Marie. There is also Thomas Rousseau who married in Santiago de Cuba 30/06/1845 Marie Lorette Noblet (o Santiago de Cuba), daughter of Jules Noblet and Félicité Savon.
