Ann Marr I don't have info on Martha Holmes, but I too have a brick wall in my Holmes line. My father is Robert R. Holmes and he is the son of Roland R. Holmes and Mildred (Gregory) Holmes. Both Roland and Mildred are deceased...my grandfather in 2002 and my grandmother in 2004. Roland's mother was Grace Holmes, father was never listed on the birth certificate. Grace was a daughter of Frank J. Holmes and Abagail Chapman. (Abagail's paternal line goes back to William Holmes of New London area, early 1600's). Frank Holmes was a son of Joseph Holmes and Lucy Morgan. Joseph Holmes was a son of William Holmes and Eliza Belden, who were married March 27, 1827 in Stepney Parish, which is now Rocky Hill, CT. From William Holmes is my brick wall. Some people have told me that William's parents may have been Ethan Holmes and Christiana Blinn, but we are not sure of that yet.
