Is this just a general comment or an answer to a question. If itis an answer I did not get the question. Here is an obit from the SDB rootsweb list: "The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 38, No 16, p 5, Apr. 20, 1882. In the town of Alfred, Allegany Co., N. Y., April 12, 1882, Mrs. Huldah Bliven Sisson, wife of George Sisson, aged 77 years. She was born in Rhode Island. and married there fifty six years ago, and soon after came to Alfred, where she has resided ever since. She obtained hope in Christ under the labors of Eld. John Green, and by him was baptized, and received into the First Alfred Church, where, as Christian, wife, mother, and friend, she has long been known and loved. Her death was sudden, but she was ready. She has left an aged husband, and three sons and three daughters, with hope that death to her is gain. C. M. L. " There are many obits documented for Babcocks, Kenyons, Greens, Harveys, and other families from the Westerly and Stonington areas that are mentioned on the SDB list. I think if anyone knew that their ancestors migrated west from the Westerly/Stonington area and they thought that they might be SDBs, the SDB list might be big help. To the List: Indeed, many families migrated to or through New London County, CT from Westerly, RI to New London & Windham Counties, CT and then on to New York State. -- they were Seventh Day Baptists!. I believe that Charles King was offerring a imoirtant source of information for documentation purposes for these people that migrated to and through New London County, CT and on into NY to Rensselair Co., NY and some to Allegany Co., NY.. (I have worked with Charles King on CTNEWLON mailing list.) ************* I was looking for a number of years as to when/where my David & Molly (Withey) Green line was; and I was told to look to the family of Joseph Greene of Westerly, RI and that I would probably find them some day from Westerly, RI, and that one of the her relatives (Clark) was on a deed of my Green -- and she figured there was connection of my Greenes were of the Joseph Greenes for there records in City Clerks office is posted in the book referenced later in this message.. And she had mentioned that these (hers) Greenes were Seventh Day Baptists. Well, we are liste! David & Molly (Withey) Green's daughter, REBECCA Green md.STEPHEN Greene, s/o Samuel Greene (Josiah4, John2, Benjamin2, John1) of Charlestown, RI. Josiah4 Greene is the brother of Joseph GREENE, the ancestor of many that went through New London County, CT. This John Greene1 is "John of Quidnessett"! (Stephen & Rebecca (Green) Greene had a number of children, including a MARY, who turned out to be the one I was searching for her identity -- she was a first cousin to William Greene, her husband; and they are my ancestors. William Greene is s/o Benajah Green(e) md. Christobel Crary, who is the g-granddaughter of Christobel Gallup [d/o John II & Hannah (Lake) Gallup md Peter Crary, immagrant.). [ Josiah 4 & Joseph 4 are found on page 16 & 17 as sons of John GREENE( Benjamin2, John1), pp 14 - 17. We have not determined whether we have 1, 2 or possibly 3 Green/Greene families in Preston/Griswold, New London County, CT as part of our GREEN(E) FAMILY.. David's grandfather, William Green, while living in Preston, his children's births are recorded in Stonnington record, with some descendents recorded in Voluntown records.. William's oldest son, John married Ist, Mary Rich, daughter of John & Mary (Warrner) Greene of England>MA, while his second wife, believe to be Eliz---- is the mother of the rest of David Green's children, incuding the above mentioned David Green md. Molly Withey of Preston, CT. ************* Source of my Reference: "Descendents of Joseph Greene of Westerly, RI also Other Branches of The Greenes of Quidnesset, or Kingston, RI, and Other Lines of Greenes in America" by Principal Frank L.
