Thanks To All! I have decided to contact the Dept of Public Health on this issue...and to also contact some of the various state recognized genealogy society's in CT. I don't feel that anyone should be forced into paying for a certifed copy...or in my case I just wanted to photgraph the info...when they don't want certification. Further, with the town clerk stating that it is the law...I almost said that it is state law to require proof of belonging to a state recognized genealogy association too...and they didn't even ask me for that info when theyn let me into the vault...but decided that I didn't need to be anymore confrontational with her.
