I would be very grateful to someone who lives in Norwich and who has a digital camera who would be willing to take some photos of gravestones in a family lot at Maplewood Cemetery and email them to me as photo attachments. My father died in 1938 and my mother remarried and moved away, so I have not lived in CT and have had a difficult time trying to get information. I recently discovered that I have six family members buried in a family burial lot. The cemetery management provided a diagram showing the locations of graves in Section 8, Block C, Lot 5. Other than the comfort of seeing my father's grave, there may be information on the gravestones that will be helpful to me. Location: 1. John Thomas Broadhurst, my grandfather 2. Elizabeth M Broadhurst, my grandmother 3. Joseph J. C. Broadhurst, my father 4. Harriet A. Miller (sister to my grandmother) 5. Herbert C Broadhurst, my uncle 6. Irene Broadhurst, my aunt Also, another relative is buried in the same cemetery in a different location -- Mary Smith Manning, my great-grandmother, mother of Elizabeth, is buried in Section 11, Block C, Lot 2. An interesting comment in the letter from the cemetery was that since I have the deed to the family lot, I am entitled to six additional cremation burials in the family lot, and I am now considering that for myself. That will probably be the only way I will get to Norwich! With gratitude... Arthur G Broadhurst 820 Carolina Circlw SW Vero Beach, Florida 32962 http://www.broadhurst-family.org
