While visiting Nova Scotia I found a PAGE family who are descended from a STEPHEN PAGE who married 20 Nov. 1766 in Liverpool, N.S., a Prescilla STEPHENS. Their children were: Joseph; Stephen; Eli; Priscilla; and Molly. Their seafaring descendants lived on the southwest coast of Nova Scotia. Stephen Page was probably a 'Planter' who was relocated (from New England?) to Nova Scotia after the defeat of the French during the French & Indian War. A Simeon PERKINS (b. 24 Feb. 1735 in Norwich, CT) who was a merchant and ship owner from Norwich, CT, arrived as a 'Planter' in Liverpool, N.S., about the same time (1762); and that family intermarried with descendants of John DOGGETT (b. 1724 in Plymouth, Mass. - d. 1772) a sea captain who arrived in Liverpool, N.S. in 1764 from Situate, Mass. where he m. Abigail HOWE. Stephen PAGE may be related to a Jeremiah PAGE, b.c. 1730 (possibly co. Norfolk, Eng.) who immigrated c. 1750 to New London Co., CT, then moved to Columbus, Chenango Co., NY. Jeremiah m. "Polly" Eames/Ames c. 1759 in Norwich, CT. Does anyone have a record of these two PAGEs being born or present in New London or Norwich, CT circa 1740 - 1766? A look-up in the Barbour Collection of New London and/or Norwich would be very much appreciated. Thank you. George W. Page Bryans Road, MD
