    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XZ.2ADE/1397.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Dear Ms. Bridwell, I take it you are unfamiliar with census records. The images are of the actual enumation record sheets. I scan pages to print or to send by email attachments. There are no photographs. I added this note below to the message to remind people that the census before 1850 are only a count of family members - only the "Head" is listed by name. "(Limited Info on full census) 1820 Index: Thomas, Daniel, Groton page 823. 1830 Index: Thomas, Daniel, Groton page 054. " So for example you will only get something like the following 2 males over 16, 3 maels under 16, 3 females. 1850 to 1930 will give all the members' names. Information about the census can be found here:http://www.easternct.edu/depts/ctstudies/Census.html I tried a keyword search in CONSUL Library database for books and other materials and came up with many hits. Here is one: Historic Groton : comprising historic and descriptive sketches pertaining to Groton Heights, Center Groton, Poquonnoc Bridge, Noank, Mystic, and Old Mystic, Conn. / by local writers ; Charles F. Burgess, editor and publisher Publisher Moosup, Conn. : C.F. Burgess, c1909. The Center has may New London County History Books and town histories: Here is one: The Groton story, by Carol W. Kimball .Stonington, Conn., Pequot Press [1965] .
