Howland, is listed in the 1920 Groton, CT census as a machininst. His workplace is illegible, but it says "shop" and it looks like the name of it starts with an "E". It looks like several other people on the page worked there too, but it is illegible (grrrrrr!). Does anyone have any idea who the main employers were in Groton in the 1920's?
The major employer in Groton, Ct. was Electric Boat Co. the designer and builder of submarines. It is now called Electric Boat Division General Dynamics. Carolyn E.
