Cindy -I find a reference to your (I think) Walter Harris in a book, "Walter Harris & some of his desc." by Charles Harris, 1922. The dates given there are b. abt 1575 and d. 6 Nov 1654 Pequot Harbor, Massachusetts. This Walter also married Mary Fry. The book is a secondary source, so I am wondering if you have documented him? Is he the same man as your Walter? Looks like it, but can't always be sure. I do not have the book, only made notes in my database on Walter and Mary. They had a dau. named Sarah who married a George Lane and lived in Hingham, MA. My Aunt did alot of work on this family starting in 1962, she hired a genealogist back east to get the info she had. Sometimes it is documented where he got the information. Hope this helps you figure if it is the correct family or not. I will help in anyway. Cindy

Joan, I have a copy of the last Will and Testament of Mary Fry Harris which I copied from "A Modern History of New London County, Conn. Vol. 1. " by Benjamin Tinkham, Marshal, A.M.D.D. page number 103. I also have documentation from "Savage Genealogical Dictionary HSH " Walter Harris of Weymouth: came in the William & Francis: Freeman June 2, 1641: in 1649 was of Dorchester: removed to New London 1653, with wife Mary and children Gabriel and Thomas, who went to England about the time of the death of his father, but was not heard of after; and died Nov. 6, 1654. His widow Mary died Jan 24, 1656 Then in Manwaring's Digest Vol. 1 page 123 Walter Harris and his wife, both deceased at Pequitt (New London's early name HSB) Inventory, 19 pounds, 2 shillings, 3 Pence. (amounts hard to read HSSB) taken April 14, 1650. There is alot of info, some of the documentation I do not understand line Parkhurst Mss. Vol 13. Then of course the Barbor collection. The genealogist my Aunt used was a Harold S. Burt, but again that was in 1962. Another resourse that was used was "The History of Norwich" by Francis Calkins" also the "Banks Dictionary" When I got all of this genealogy was after my Aunt died and my Father showed it to me. All of the pages were typed and thrown into a box (a box like you would buy from the office store with several packages of copy paper in it) I tried to sort it out and put the pages in archival sleeves and they now reside in 3 - 3inch note books. Sorry for the rambling and I hope this helps you figure out if it is the right Walter and Mary. Most of what I have on them in the very early time in America is located in New London, Conn.
