Wright 1903).. ****** Here's Larry's query: I’m trying to find out how to get a copy of a 1776 “memorial” signed by about 100 residents of New London county October 14, 1776. This memorial supposedly qualifies each signer for societies of the Revolution. It was presented to the General Assembly at Hartford and recorded in the Capitol Building (Revolutionary War, IV, Document 440). It is also recorded on page 629 of Duane Hamilton Hurd’s History of New London County, (J. W. Lewis & co, Philadelphia 1882). Hurd’s book is in the Library of Congress (control number 05013594, call number: Microfilm 18540 F) which I can at least get a copy of the page if nothing else. However, I would like to find out how to get a copy of the official document in Hartford. Do you have any suggestions? Attached is the memorial and why it was originated as recorded in Anna’s book FYI. Descendants of the signers should be able to confirm their descent from a Revolutionary War Patriot if by no other record than the memorial and it should be of interest to many researchers.
