Said to be a whaling ship captain who arrived in Eureka in 1851 (probably related to the gold rush). He married in CA or in CT to Ann Elizabeth Lewis b 13 Nov 1826 in CT who died 21 Jan 1911 in Humboldt Co, California. I have found a Joseph West in Stonington in 1810, and 1820, and am looking for more information about this family. Thank you.
