Daniel Badger other than the marriage record. A recent exhaustive search of the available records of Coventry has been performed without any evidence of Anne Modena surfacing. A review of Ships Passenger Lists has failed to identify the surname Modena. An insert at the front of “Early Connecticut Marriages As Found on Ancient Church Records Prior to 1800”, Bailey, Frederic W., (Bureau of American Ancestry, New Haven, CT, 1896-1906) states, "The following is a (revised) list of Congregational Churches so far reporting the loss of their records of Baptisms and Marriages prior to 1800"...within the list appears "Coventry, Tolland County, organized 1745, none before 1818". The name “Modena” is likely a phonetic corruption of her name which occurred to Sarah Roath (second wife of Capt. Daniel Badger, father of David.) which appears consistently incorrect as “Worth”. Anne’s surname could also be incorrectly spelled or even possibly incorrectly “transcribed” as the original recording of marriage has not yet been examined or surfaced. The surname itself could also be an assumed name. Any credible ideas, leads, links, connections, private correspondence, diaries or references which could lead to identification of Anne Modena who married David Badger would be greatly appreciated.
