    2. Hi all, I'm new to the list, and could really use some help!! I'm looking for information on Samuel EAMES, b.11/16/1751 Voluntown. According to the Barbour Collection and cemetery records online, here is an outline of what I DO know: Samuel EAMES, b.11/16/1751 m.Anne BENNET(T) on 11/101774 Voluntown b.c1757 d.10/5/1794 Their PROVEN children Eliphalet EAMES (son) b.5/28/1775 Voluntown d.11/6/1868 m.Alathea ______ b.c1780 d.11/8/1859 Mary EAMES b.3/28/1777 Voluntown Elizabeth EAMES b.10/23/1778 Voluntown Isaac EAMES b.8/11/1780 Voluntown Samuel married again Nabby _____ b.c1757 d.9/29/1801 Samuel's wives, Anne & Nabby, and son Eliphalet & his wife Alathea are all listed as buried in the Old South Killingly Cemetery under the name of AMES, but Samuel is NOT listed online as being there with them! I have found information on Samuel in several family trees on Rootsweb and other sites, but unfortunately, those I've been able to contact have no idea what the source for his information is! It appears that most of these people got their information passed onto them, so I have no way of proving that it's correct! I'm trying to connect a David AMES who married Charlotte, probably BUSH, and a Samuel AMES who married a Lucy, who also is probably a BUSH, as sons of the above Samuel EAMES/AMES. In the online trees, Samuel is listed as having died July 18, 1837 in Voluntown, after marrying a third wife, Chloe DAY. With wife Anne BENNETT, he had a total of nine children, among them are sons David and Samuel, who fit with information that I have found in NY on the people I am tracing. Also, the above daughter Elizabeth seems to have ended up in NY as well, married to Oliver HULETT (HEWLET/HEWLETT). In the early census records for NY, Oliver and Elizabeth AMES HULETT lived in close proximity to Samuel and Lucy AMES, and for a time, David and Charlotte AMES. David and Charlotte eventually moved to another town in the same county, but all three families are buried in close proximity in a small cemetery near where they all settled when they first arrived from CT, sometime in the early 1800s. I have a considerable amount of information on these three families AFTER they arrived in Western NY, but I can't PROVE they were siblings, nor who their parents were! I have also found information on an Almon (Almond) AMES, who appears to possibly have been a nephew to the above three "siblings", probably through the above Isaac AMES, listed in Barbour as a son of Samuel and Anne BENNETT AMES. He lived near them and is buried near them, and there is a woman listed in the census records who seems to fit as Almon's mother, but again, I can't PROVE his lineage!! There is also a daughter, Jerusha AMES listed as being a daughter to Samuel and Anne BENNETT AMES, listed as born March 17, 1791, who I am also interested in. She MAY have ended up out here as well, but I have no proof as to whom she married! ANY help with this family would be GREATLY appreciated, as I seem to have gone about as far as I can without physically going to CT!! THANKS in advance! Joan in Western NY
