I've "rescued" an original marriage certificate belonging to Winfield S. DEWOLF and his bride Mary J. STORY, who were married on the 14th of March 1889 at Norwich, Connecticut by the Pastor D. H. TAYLOR at the Central Baptist Church. Based on limited research and the help of a DEWOLF Family researcher I know that Winfield Scott DEWOLF died in 1933 and that his wife Mary Jane STORY was b. 8 April 1866 at Preston, CT to parents Ebenezer STORY and Mary Esther AVERY. Mary Esther and her children were recorded in the 1880 census, noting that her husband was deceased and her 25 year old son Ebenezor STORY was head of household. Mary E. Story is noted as age 55 with four children living at home in addition to Ebenezor, they are Nancy M. age 32, Carrie E. age 22, Thomas W. age 20, and Mary J. age 14. Two additional children are listed as Ebenezor's daughters, Hanna A. age 10 and Lucy A. age 7 suggesting that Ebenezor was likely married early though no spouse is listed in the household. Indications are that Winfield and Mary Jane DEWOLF had two children during the 1890's, Ebenezer S. DEWOLF and Elsie DEWOLF, though nothing more is known about either of the children.
