    2. Hi List, going through a box of books I purchased last fall, I found this book! What a treasure! The book is in ok condition, except the index is torn and missing many names. So, I am in the process of making a new one, and wanted to share this. There are over 900 pages! Give me some time, and I will post to the list who is in the book. For now, hope this helps. Beers & Company 1905 957 Pages Page 64 PALMER-For several generations, and all through the ninetheenth century, members of the Palmer family have been engaged in manufacturing of one kind and another on the site of the present extensive bed-quilt manufacturing plant of the Palmer Brothers Company, sons of the late Elisha H Palmer, of Montville, loong a prominent citizen of that community. These brothers are in the eighth generation from Walter Palmer, the emigrant ancestor of their branch of their family, their lineage being through Decon, Gershom, George, Gershom (2), elder Reuben, Gideon and Hon. Elisha H Palmer. (1) Walter Palmer, who was born in England as early as 1598, came with a brother, formerly a merchant in London, England, and others to the American Colonies as early as 1629. He settled at Salem, and was one of the founders of Charlestown, where, it is said, he built the first dwelling house in the town. In 1643, he removed to Plymouth Colony, and with others joined in the organization of the town of Rehoboth, Mass. After figuring constpicusously there and in other points in Massachusetts, he finally located in Stonington, Conn., in 1653, where he died November 10 1661. He was twice married, he second marriage occurring June 1, 1633, to Rebecca Short. His children by the first marriage were: Grace, William, John, Honah and Elizabeth, while those by the second marriage were: Hannah, Elihu, Nehemiah, Moses, Benjamin, Gershom and Rebecca. (five pages of family history-Picture of Edward A Palmer included) Page 197 MINER-The Miner family of which Thomas Avery, William Herman and Elisha M Miner have been honored representatives in the eight generation, is on of the oldest settled families of Connecticut, their line of ancestry from Lieut. Thomas Miner beign as follows: (1) Thomas Miner, born April 23, 1608, maiired in kCharlestown, Mass, April 23, 1634, Grace, daughter of Walter Palmer. Lieut. Miner served in Colonial wars.
