    3. Hi Dick, Well I can tell you the Hanlon's you're looking for are not buried in Ledyard, which is across the river from Montville. As for Catholic churches try http://www.norwichdiocese.org/ This is the Diocese web page that covers New London county and then some. As for towns, try Norwich, Montville and New London, and Waterford. Those towns are all neighboring and your best bet. Each church listed has an established date so that should help as well. If you have no luck there I would contact the Diocese and tell them what you're looking for. Baptism records from 1857 Montville, which church would be my best bet. That sort of thing. As for cemeteries, I don't know so you may want to ask the Diocese about that as well. Unfortunately I see no kind of email address for the diocese. One thing I did note was that the Norwich Diocese wasn't established until 1953 and if they cannot help you with information back to the 1800's I would contact the Hartford Diocese. http://www.archdioceseofhartford.org/ They fortunately have an email address. Terrance was born in Ireland ca. 1829. Mary was born in Ireland ca. 1836. The Hanlons and six sons are found in the 1880 census for Norwich, New London Co., CT. Son Edward was born 1857 in Montville, CT and presumably the family lived there at that time. The family was Catholic, so any Catholic churches in the area that may have done baptisms, weddings, burials, etc, for the family need to be identified for additional research. Any information available on the family, particularly that which would lead back to the Hanlon origins in Ireland, is highly desireable.
