I don' t know what the law is in Conn. concerning certified copies. Here is a suggestion, when the town clerk or anyone else tells you that you can only get certified copies because it is the law, ask them to show you the law. Interesting. For a few years now, whenever someone said, "It's the law.", I have requested the statute number. That request generally throws the salesperson, or whomever, into a tip and more often than not they back off. Apparently, someone decided that by making the statement about the law, it was an easy way to wiggle out of something.
