    3. I'm not sure if I've posed this question to the list so please forgive me if it's a duplication. Obviously, I haven't found the answer to my inquiry yet! I have a copy of a 1791 land record from Lyme that shows a Reuben Ransom deeding land to Abraham Emerson II. Several relatives of Abraham also deeded him land at this same time. Abraham II's mother was Deborah Lord. Deborah's sister, Lydia, was married to Stephen Ransom. However, as far as I've been able to tell, Lydia & Stephen had no sons. Does anyone have a record of a Reuben Ransom and how he might fit into this picture? Many thanks... Linda __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! 3. Linda, I'm on my out the door and can't do any real scratching around for a Reuben at this time; however, as David said, Stephen and Lydia (LORD) RANSOM did have at least one son that I know about, Theophilus, b. 1751 - died 1823 in VT. He married a Susan BYRAN. They had 2 sons - that I know about, Stephen and Merritt - both born in Rutland, VT. Like David said, Stephen md. 2nd Susannah Huntley c 1768. My info on these particular RANSOMs comes from: Huntley, Alice P., "John Huntley and Some of His Descendants" in The New England Historical & Genealogical Register, Vol. 101 (1947) (CD; Boston: NEHGR & Broderbund Software, Inc., 1996). Johnston, Jean, "Truman Lord Ransom, 1826 NY - 1906 IA," Ransom Researcher, Issue #7 (Sep 1994). RANSOM research by Oscar Fricke and Jane Ransom Fricke of Mission Viejo, CA, 1988, selected pages of Matthew/1 and Joseph/2 RANSOM sent to me by Michael Ransom, publisher of the Ransom Researcher. Ransom, James R., "Moses Y Ransom 1838 - ?," Ransom Researcher, Issue #18 (June 1997). Ransom, Michael J., transcriber and ed., "Ransoms from Connecticut in the American Army during the Revolutionary War," Ransom Researcher, Issue #3 (Sep 1993). You might browse around on the RANSOM Family Genealogy website: http://www.peak.org/~mransom/ransom.html My RANSOM line is via Stephen's brother Matthew/3, Joseph/2, Matthew/1. --- Susan [email protected] My Genealogy Website - sgt http://home.att.net/~SGTAYLOR1/ ----------------------------------------------- USGW Mansfield, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcmansf/ USGW New London, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnewlo/ USGW Norwich, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnorwi/ USGW Windham, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcwindh/ USGW Coordinator Plymouth Co., MA - http://www.rootsweb.com/~maplymou/ USGW Plymouth, MA - http://www.rootsweb.com/~macplymo/ ********************************************************* At 08:43 AM 8/27/02 -0700, Linda Emerson wrote: >I'm not sure if I've posed this question to the list so please forgive >me if it's a duplication.
