    1. [CTNEWLON] Three Joseph L. Thompson's
    2. Hi Bonnie, There are actually three Joseph L. Thompson's in the Westerly, Stonington area in the mid 1800s. One was Joseph Lewis Thompson of Westerly, another was Joseph Latham Thompson who married Mary Pendleton and then there was the 'mystery man' Joseph Loomer Thompson, my gg grandfather. In 1839 when Joseph Loomer Thompson was 18 years old the Charlestown RI town council indicated that the Sheriff was to remove Joseph Thompson, his mother and family from Charlestown. So since Joseph was born in CT, I was looking for a single 'mother' and family in either New London Co. CT or Washington Co. RI who was a head of family by the name of Thompson. I found Hannah Thompson in the 1830 and 1840 census in Waterford who fits the profile perfectly. Hence my interest in Thompsons of Waterford. Thanks for the help, Charlie King gg grandson of Joseph Loomer Thompson born 1821 probably in New London Co.
