Thanks to all who responded to my request for the captioned records. I have haunted Jane Devlin's amazing site for years and am grateful for her work. Unfortunately, all your suggestions have been checked many times and are not in the time period I seek other than an occasional one for other names. Per land records, my 4GGF David MINARD/MINER was living in Colchester circa 1770-1787 and should have had kids born there during that time. In Lebanon, he lived 1787- 1797 and a couple of kids should have been born there. I just cannot find a collection of births for those years for those towns. None of my direct line seem to be in Barbour. Pat. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! To all of the fine folks in Connecticut who replied to my request. Thank you so much for your kindness. This is the second time that I have asked for help and have been overwhelmed by your response. If anyone needs any information from this part of the world, don't hesitate to call on me. Bert Bass, Monino6@cox.net
Several months ago a great volunteer looked up and mailed a copy of my brother's obituary and death notice to me. My brother is John C. Bass, born 18 March, 1916 in Thomasville, Georgia and died 5 March, 1995 in New London, Connecticut. His funeral was conducted by The Thomas L. Neilan and Sons Funeral Home. The service was held at The Christ Lutheran Church in Niantic and he was buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Is there someone who would be kind enough to photograph his headstone for me? I live in Oklahoma and am not able to travel to Connecticut. I will reimburse any expenses incurred. Thank you very much. Bert Bass, Monino6@cox.net
I'm sorry about this, but I have no idea how that death date got in there for Capt James - "3. Capt James Morgan (James-1) was born in 1643/44 in Roxbury, MA. He was baptised on 3 Mar 1643/44 in Roxbury, MA. He died on 8 Dec 1671 in Groton, CT. His will is dated, Groton, June 25, 1708; probated Jan. 22, 1712". Please remove it before it gets passed around or copied somwhere. Thanks, and again I appoligize for the error. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Owner of -- New England Genealogy http://homepage.myeastern.com/~kamaba/home.htm New England Native American Mailing List http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/Ethnic-Native/NEW-ENG-NATAM.html ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hi Jan, Don't know if you saw my post about the book I have, James Morgan appears on Page 277. I haven't read all the Morgan's bios, but there are 12 listed, two with pictures. "Morgan, The history of the well known Morgan family reads as follows" 1) James Morgan, born in Wales in 1607, married Aug 6, 1640 Margery Hill of Roxbury, Mass and died in 1685. He was settled in Roxbury at first, having arrived in Boston in April 1636, and in 1650, he removed to New London, Conn., residing near the present town burial ground in the western surburb of the city of New London. It goes on to page 279, and this is only for James, there is more on John Morgan, but I would need more info. It seems to be your line, let me know, I sent Charlie copies by snail mail becuse my scanning and sending was not working out. I sent him copies by mail. Terre

Hello, I'm looking for the parents of Thankful CLARK (b. ca 1800) who married Raymond GREEN in Stonington in 1820. Thankful's death certificate said that her parents were Benjamin and Frances CLARK. Does anyone have any information about Thankful's parents, including the maiden name of her mother? Thank you, Judi Watson
Hi List, Ok, I have sent the index to a few people now, never saw my original post make it to the list, guess it was just to big.....some people missed out on what it was that I was making, so here it is.....from a book: Genealogical and Biographical Record of New London County Connecticut Containing: BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES OF PROMINENT AND REPRESENTATIVE CITIZENS AND GENEALOGICAL RECORDS OF MANY OF THE EARLY SETTLED FAMILIES ILLUSTRATED Chicago J.H. Beers & Company 1905 I am willing to scan the pages and send off the list. I know the list does not take attachments, I sent a regular mail message with it, it was probably just to big. On the subject of mail, I thought that when you respond to a message, it goes to the list, I have had to wait to post because people responded to me and not the list, and I did not have the list address until someone responded with the list address. Is this making any sense? Terre
Hi List, I sent the index, all 13 pages, and have not seen it come back to me. Should I break it up? Or anyone interested, I can send as an attachment to you personally? Let me know....... Terre

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Lena GEER which was taken at the F. P. Kenyon & Son Studio in New London, Connecticut. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Lena likely in her 20's at the time it was taken. I am hoping to locate someone from Lena's family so that the photograph can be returned to her family. Based on limited research I believe that this may be a photograph of Lena A. GEER b. 13 Jul 1865 in Stonington, CT to parents Henry F. GEER and Hannah M. MAINE. In 1870 the family was living in North Stonington, CT with census records providing the following information: Henry GEER, age 34, a Farmer, born CT Hannah M. GEER, age 27, Keeping House, born CT Ellene E. GEER, age 4, born CT In 1880 the family was still living in North Stonington, CT with census records providing the following information: Henry F. GEER, age 44, a widower, born CT, parents born CT Lena GEER, dau, age 14, born CT, at School John H. GEER, son, age 6, born CT Ellen MAINE, Sister-in-law, age 37, born CT, parents born CT I'm hoping to locate someone from Lena's family so that the photograph can be returned to them. If you are a member of the family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Does anyone know where birth records for these two towns during the period 1770-1800 can be found? Are they online? Are there look-ups available? Thank you. Pat.
