    3. This is my Lamphere line. George Lamphere (died 6 Oct 1731) and Jane Hulet John Lamphere (c 1683-bef 30 May 1757) and Ruth LNU Nathan Lamphere (c 1710-bef 19 Apr 1799) and Mary Langworthy Mary Lamphere (5 Apr 1740-10 May 1814) and William Steward (19 Oct 1734-26 Sep 1788) I have a Solomon Lamphere, no dates, son of Shadrach Lamphere and Elizabeth Reed (Read); they were married 1696. Shadrach was son of George Lampehre and Jane Hulet. Unfortunately I can not cite adequate sourcing--so take this as unproven. It should provide some possibilities for you. 3. Hi The variously spelled Lanphere/Landfeare/Lamphere/Lanphear family all originated in R.I., as did the Littlefield family of Wells, (now Kennbunk) Maine. The New England Historic Genealogical Society, has much information on the Littlefield's, not as much on Lamphere. My genealogy includes the original immigrant George Lanphear, but daughters out in the 1700's. 3. Yes, these are the "Rogerene" Rogers. Davis Rogers is a descendant of James Rogers. His father was Nathan and his grandfather was Jonathan Rogers, son of Jonathan, son of James. The James Rogers of the Rogerenes would have been his grandfather's brother. jeanne In a message dated 28/08/2006 16:29:42 GMT Daylight Time, jbedwell@blueriver.net writes: <<The Rogers were a Seventh Day Baptist or Sabbatarian family and Elder Davis Rogers led the Waterford, Connecticut Seventh Day Baptist Church for 19 years. The Rogerenes were closely influenced by Seventh Day Baptists and were initially at least involved in Sabbatarian controversies, and were harshly treated by the state as a result.... 3. History of Montville generally refers to Henry A. Baker's book (Hartford, 1896). His inaccuracies are infamous. With that said, I will tell you what Baker says: Page 501 is the beginning of a section on the Whaley families. The quote you are seeking is part of a listing of children of Alexander Whaley: "Samuel, b. 2 Jan., 1754; m. Olive Darrow." Page 502 expands "SAMUEL (7) b. 2 Jan, 1754, son of Alexander Whaley and Elizabeth Shaw; married Olive Darrow, daughter of Christopher Darrow and _______ _______. His children were all born in Montville. He was a farmer and lived on the farm afterwards occupied by Hazard Browning, located on the old Colchester road, and was adjoined on the east by the farm of Dr. Ephraim Fellows. He removed to the state of New York, where he died in 1813. 3. Thank you for the URL's to your sites! I am looking forward to happy researching. NEHGS published a correction to the John Hempsted list published in The Register [126:255-6] which corrects the names of the Rogers-Minor marriage. Davis [not David] Rogers married Hannah Minor, daughter of John Minor on Aug 21, 1774. The correct names are also found in the James Rogers of New London book. Unfortunately, my printed copy does not indicate the page of the correction in The Register. Thank you also for the hint about the widow of John Prentiss being the mother of Hannah. I will pursue that lead. These are my 3 gg parents. jeanne bedwell

[NEHGS]. I really don't have more info than what you. I have only that Hannah's mother was widow of John Prentiss. Sooo I suspect she was married at her mother's home. I don't even have her father's name. My info is from: [Grace Shaw Woldf], New London Vital Statistics from the Collated Copy from the Original Records, Vol 1, (S.l.: s. n., c1900?), rebound copy in custody of the Memphis Public Library, Memphis, TN, p. 70. I have all this source transcription on-line on my USGenWeb project for the town of New London: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnewlo/ The particular info on her marriage record is in Vol. 1 on page 70. Here are the pages for this source where you can see for yourself: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnewlo/nl1.html The Index: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnewlo/nl1_index.html Click on the "M" and scroll down to: "Maynard/Minard" and click on the link to "70". Their marriage is the 2nd entry on p. 70. You might want to check the indexes of both volumes under the spellings of MINER/MAYNARD/MYNOR/MINER/MINES. The other volume is at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnewlo/nl2.html --- Susan sgtwebgen@earthlink.net My Genealogy Websitehttp://home.earthlink.net/~sgtwebgen/ ------------------------------------------------------------------ USGW Mansfield, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcmansf/ USGW New London, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnewlo/ USGW Norwich, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnorwi/ USGW Windham, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcwindh/ USGW Plymouth, MA - http://www.rootsweb.com/~macplymo/ ********************************************************* > > > > The Rogers were a Seventh Day Baptist or > > Sabbatarian family and Elder Davis > > Rogers led the Waterford, Connecticut Seventh > > Day Baptist Church for 19 > > years.
