    2. Hi Terre, I am glad you are recovering - stay healthy. I would really like the scanned pages whenever you get the chance. I will gladly pay for them and the postage. This must be the same Horace Lanphear family as my Abbey Owen whom he married is also from Westerly. You may e-mail me privately if you prefer at <bamsdp@bellsouth.net> Thank you for opening a hole in one brick wall. 3. Sure, my Lucy might really be a Lydia, but I have alot of information on Reuben J. Harris's family. I would be more than happy to share. To start: Reuben J. Harris born Dec. 6, 1741 his parents are Dr. Samuel Harris b. March 5, 1696/97, married Dianah Willcocks Jan 5, 1723 Dr. Samuel Harris is the sone of Samuel Harris b 14 July 1665 died 1725 married Elizabeth Gison. Samuel Harris son of Gabriel Harris born in 1630 died in 1684 , married an Elizabeth Abbott Gabriel Harris son of Walter Harris born in London, England abt 1590 and died about 1654 in New London Conn. m. Mary Fry. They came to America on the William and Frances in 1632. I have alot of info on Rueben to the present, I have children listed and who they married. My Aunt did alot of work on this family starting in 1962, she hired a genealogist back east to get the info she had. Sometimes it is documented where he got the information. Hope this helps you figure if it is the correct family or not. I will help in anyway. Cindy Mom2AJ@aol.com wrote: My mother in laws mother was a Harris. 3. Arnold's VR of RI shows a Horace V. Lanphear as a member in Westerly from 15 June 1843, dropped 1 Jan. 1860. Possibly because he moved to CT. The only birth record I could find was Horace Lanphere b Westerly, 25 Jan 1823. (Arnold's VR Vol. 4, page 252), son of William and Eliza. 3. I would like to know more about your Lucy Lampere by any spelling . Do you know of a Joseph Lamphere ? I'm sure if we go back or forward far enough we will find out that they are connected . They tended to have very large families in those days so there were a lot of cousins . My Lucy was only about 14 when she married Josheph Lamphere so she had to have been born abt. 1846 so all we need to do is to fill in the space leading Joseph up to 1860. I do believe that he was born in Westerly RI . Thats all for now . 3. WELLS is a small part of YORK COUNTY MAINE . Kennebunk or what ever the spelling is , is a town of its own . My Littlefield's are from Wells ME . In 1880 they moved to CT . Cortland was adopted by Roland and Fannie Littlefield when Cortand was about 7 but he lived with then long before the adoption . -----Original Message----- From: ElizHgene@aol.com Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2006 3:40 PM To: ctnewlon@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CTNEWLON] Littlefield and Wells ME the "Rogerene" Rogers In a message dated 9/21/2006 3:17:35 PM Eastern Standard Time, bonnie.travel@sympatico.ca writes: ., as did the Littlefield family of Wells, (now Kennbunk) Maine. <G> Okay are you saying the Littlefields are now of Kennebunk or that Wells is now Kennebunk? The Littlefield list can be of much help with them no matter where they came from. {I know *G* "The LITTLEFIELD's all came from WELLS Maine in 1880"] I thought I would take a flyer at them but Cortney and Roland aren't showing easily <G> Eliz ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to CTNEWLON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Cindy and David, I'm going to jump into this LANPHERE/LANPHEAR/LANFEAR.... thread and add one of my brick walls. I have a Lucy LANPHERE who appears to have been born on Venus, married, had issue in Preston/Griswold, New London Co., CT, and preceded on to Mars where she died!!!! According to: Huntington Family Association. The Huntington Family in America, A Genealogical Memoir of the Known Descendants of Simon Huntington from 1633 to 1915 (Hartford: Huntington Family Association, 1915). she married 1764 Deacon Andrew HUNTINGTON (1740 Norwich, CT - 1830 Griswold, CT). They lived in Preston/Griswold, New London Co., CT where they had 8 children. I have searched the Barbour Collections and several RI sources as I suspect she was of RI ancestry - all to no avail. As she married in 1764, I suspect her 1st marriage, she probably was born c1744? --- Susan sgtwebgen@earthlink.net My Genealogy Website http://home.earthlink.net/~sgtwebgen/ ------------------------------------------------------------------ USGW Mansfield, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcmansf/ USGW New London, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnewlo/ USGW Norwich, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcnorwi/ USGW Windham, CT - http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctcwindh/ USGW Plymouth, MA - http://www.rootsweb.com/~macplymo/ ********************************************************* At 03:07 PM 9/21/2006, Cindy Besser wrote: >I have a Lucy Lanphear born Dec 13, 1741 she married a Reuben J. >Harris born Dec 6, 1741. 3. Hello to all, I am working on the following lines in the New London County area . LAMPHERE [Minnie A. , Lucy A. , Joseph] ,,,,,,, HANCOCK [Lucy A.] ,,,,,,, SMITH [Frank H. , Minnie A. , Frank M. with adopted daughter Nancy Butcher from wife's first marriage , Ollie , Mabel or le (Newbury or Newbery , Mildred , Ernest HE. , Raymond L. , Gertrude (Saunder's)] , LITTLEFIELD [Cortland , Roland , Fannie or Fanny , Edith [Roger's] , Caroline (Tibbets) , George W. , Mary Abbie , Helen M. , there are other's but I can't think of their names right now . The LITTLEFIELD's all came from WELLS Maine in 1880 and the had FRANK HENERY with them at the age of 2 mon. as his mother ANNIE LITTLEFIELD SMITH wife of FRED A. SMITH had died in 1877 after giving birth to Frank . There is so much more to the story but I am hoping to find some people who are in any of these line's or who might know of them and have some information . Just ask anything and I will try to answer as it would take to long to write it all here .
