The family intermarried with the DEAKE family at least twice, and they were (Seventh Day) Baptists! I am specifically seeking the ancestry of Anna (GOULD) DEAKE, b. 14 May 1741, whose father may have been a William GOULD judging only by child naming patterns. Charles DEAKE came from Westerly, RI, and three of his sisters married in Stonington, CT. He and Anna GOULD were m. about 1760 and lived in Hopkinton, RI, until about 1775 when they moved with several Baptists to Washington Co, NY. Can you help?
I am tracing Anna Wells who was born 3 JUL 1765 in Hebron, Tolland Co., Ernie and Sue's names were given as sources but can't locate them. Things that I'm searching for: Marriage of Anna Wells to Benjamin Fenton (date/place- source?) maybe ca 1785 NY??? Birth of their daughter Martha Wells Fenton (date/place - source?) I would say maybe Cambridge, NY May 05, 1799? Death of Anna Wells Fenton (date/place/burial - sources?) says April 1850?? Proof that Anna Wells that married Benjamin Fenton was the daughter of Joseph Wells and Thankful Shalor (maybe in will listing Anna Fenton????) see next item Will/estate/probate/deed records for Joseph Wells when he died ca 1817 Cambrige NY??? Death of Thankful Shalor Wells (date/place/burial - sources?) Birth of Thankful Shalor (date/place/- sources?) (is it 23 JAN 1726 in Bolton, Tolland Co., CT?) Marriage of Thankful Shalor to Joseph Wells (New London, CT ca 1750??) Source?? Death of Thomas Wells Feb. 4, 1760 at Hebron, CT (Source?) Just wanted to make sure Data I have accumulated: Date: Fri, 24 Jul 1998 From: Laura Hulslander <[email protected]> I checked the book "Records of the Protestant Presbyterian Church of Cambridge, Washington Co., NY" but there was no marriage listed for Anna Wells to Benjamin Fenton. There was no birth listed for Martha W. Fenton either. I did some checking on both families but didn't find any mention of those names under Fenton or Wells. Published 1876. Page 161: Progenitor No. IX. Thomas Welles was born in Dudley, Worcestershire, Eng., Jan. 10, 1694. Came to America A.D. 1712, and landed in Saybrook, Conn., whence he removed in the year 1725 to Gilead Parish, town of Hebron, Conn., where he purchased a small landed property, and died Feb. 4, 1760 (N.S.), aged 66 years. Hello My name is Candice Allbee and I am new to this list. I am grasping at straws, this WHIPPLE line has been a hard one for me and I am wondering if there is any help I can get. JOSEPH WHIPPLE was born 1803 in CT, where exactly I have no idea, I have a few leads though, none of which as of yet I have been able to track. CHRISTOPHER WHIPPLE was born 1801 CT and I have been assuming that they are brothers as They are both In Geauga OHIO together, there is a JOSEPH WHIPPLEs signature on the marraige certificate of Christopher as well. They were also both born in CT. The ladies geneology that came from the Christopher line said that there is a possibility that ELIJAH WHIPPLE was CHRISTOPHERs Father, no information other than that was able to be obtained by this lady and that is all I know. Is there a 1800 census available for this area? Im not sure what elce may help me other than a birth certificate for Joseph and Christopher, and how atainable are those? I would appreciate any help at all because I am looking at the vast area of CT in this time frame, a needle in a haystack basically. Thank you for your time for reading my message.
