Guess this one will just have to remain a mystery a bit longer! Chances are Wladislaw left before the 1910 census - we know he was in St. Louis in 1913. As for Ludwik, I don't have a clue who he might be, or if he is really related. Maybe he was just a friend and not really a relative. Time will tell! Many thanks again!!! Mary

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XZ.2ADE/1439.1.1 Message Board Post: Deb, I'm new to this list and found you message. Do you do census lookups?? If you do, could you help me out? I recently found out my grandfather went to New London, CT after arriving in the US in 1906 (was 17yrs old). His name was Wladislaw (Walery/Walter) Liszewski. His ship manifest says he went to stay with his brother/brother-in-law, Ludwik Kilczewski or Hilczewski - at 25 Douglas St. - (assuming I'm deciphering the ship manifest info correctly). This info is totally new and no one in our family is aware of such a relative. So any info would be grateful!!! You may/may not find Wladislaw, he eventually moved to St.Louis, we don't know when though. Perhaps this "Ludwik" person stayed in CT since our family didn't know of him. Thanks in advance for any info! Mary LISZEWSKI/CIEPLA/FLORCZYK

    3. I am reseraching my g-g-g grandfather, William Gale Johnson. He owned the Johnson Dye Works in Uncasville, Connecticut. William died in 1892. Does anyone know anything about William's house in Uncasville. It was called "Hillcrest"? I understand the home was restored in the early 1990's. I read where it was referred to as "an unusual style of architecture & sometimes was described as an English Manor house."
