Hi, Can't remember what you wrote before, and didn't print it. Was the wife of Joseph Loomer Thompson a woman named Lucretia A. Reynolds? Was your great-grandfather either one of these two men?... 1.William Thompson b.11-1-1868 at Stonington 2.Albert Thompson b.2-22-1870 at Stonington I finally did see where that Gilbert was connected to my Brown line, and there are Denisons and Thompsons. Regards, K.J. Blackburn
I am reposting a messeage, which I sent out a few days ago concerning a Gallup marriage. The subject of that messate was To Charles King. I am a Gallup descendent and own the genealogy books. So, I hope this other post will help you. Hi, I gave these people as a possibility because many of the Gallup families had been in Stonington.I didn't actually connect Gilbert up with my Brown line, but I'm still working on my line. For the burials of this Gilbert Brown and his wife you might want to check with Richard B. Burt who is the caretaker for the Rose Hill Cemetery in Smethport. This Gilbert Brown was probably buried in the Old Smethport Burial Ground. All of the bodies were removed from there to Rose Hill. His address is ... Richard B. Burt 210 East Main Street Smethport,PA 16749 ph.#(814)-887-2156 Other possible burial locations would be Keating Township and Norwich Township. All three places are in McKean County. Didn't find anything else. Regards, K.J. Blackburn
Kevin, Thanks for the note. Wow, I was looking in CT for Gilbert Brown (the Brown genealogy says he died in 1841 but doesn't say where) and was coming up blank. Would you have any idea where abouts in PA Gilbert Brown died or lived? Could it be in the north central part of PA. I have a lead on some Thompsons from Stonington that moved there and am trying to make the connection to Joseph Loomer Thompson. I will see if I can get a hold of the Gallup genealogy and see if there are any Thompson connections in there. The Cogswells also tie in with my Thompsons as well, so there is a double 'whammy' here. Thanks for the help, Charlie King gg grandson of Joseph Loomer Thompson born 1821 someplace in New London Co. Kevin Blackburn wrote: Sally Gallup, b. In 1850, my gg grandfather, Joseph Loomer THOMPSON and his family lived with Gilbert BROWN born 1780 (I think in Preston CT) and his grown children in Stonington CT. I think that Joseph is somehow connected to this Brown family. Anybody got any information on Gilbert BROWN like who he married? There is a book called "Early Connecticut Marriages As Found on Anciet Church Records Prior To 1800" by Frederick William Bailey.Published by the Genealogical Publishing Company of Baltimore in 1968.The Hedberg Public Library in Janesville,Rock County,WI has a copy but it is in the Janesville Room which is all reference material that can't be checked out.Maybe there would be a copy in one of your local libraries. Linda, There was an Edna Eames who married Ebenezer Loomer in Bozrah which is north of Lyme, I believe. And I think this Loomer family came from Groton originally. I am new to the list and new to research in CT. I paid someone to research the Barbour records. They did not find the birth and marriage records I seek (ca. 1820). My ancestors may well have been Quakers- are Quaker records included in the Barbour compilation or do I need to look elsewhere? These Sherman's were in the 1820 census in the village of Franklin. Can someone suggest a next step? Bonnie in the Carolinas

Would someone be so kind as to do a quick birth lookup for me? I've just discovered a headstone of another Emerson ancestor. This time it's an Abram Emerson who was born in Lyme on January 17, 1804. I would be most appreciative for any information on this person. Many thanks... Would like to get any information on any of the Cook families who lived in Stonington,CT in the early to late 1700s. Kevin Blackburn Green County,WI
I pretty much have all of the Brown stuff.I'm mainly looking for info on Joseph Cook now.
Hi, The link is actually working, but since it did not entirely transfer to the list,it has to be manually typed in.The L- Lokkebo/GENE4-0007.html is a part of the URL of the site. Another way of getting there is to just type Ancestors of Lillie Belle Fisk into your search engine.Much of these lineages is also in the book Brown Genealogy by Cyrus Henry Brown. My Brown lineage would be as follows .... 1.Kevin Blackburn 2.Janet Bilkey 3.Lloyd Bilkey 4.Helena Beach 5.Oscar Beach 6.Orange Beach 7.Wealthy White 8.Wealthy Cook 9.Wealthy Brown who married Joseph Cook 10.Samuel Brown b.7-14-1734 Stonington,CT m.(Mary?) served as corporal in Revolutionary War d.9-29-1815 Stonington,CT 11.Thomas Brown b.2-14-1691/2 Stonington,CT m.10-4-1715 Deborah Holdridge This continues back a bit farther and there are many descendancies.I just tried the link now so it is working.
