Hi, Just read your query on the Ruggles family in New Haven. My Aunt, Irene Clark was adopted by a Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Florence ( Ruggles I believe)Pope who lived in, I believe, Oxford, Conn. I rememver visiting them as a child (1940's) They lived on lasd that originally belonged to the Blackburn family. On this same property was the famous "Blackburn Tavern". I am aware there is also a Historical Society in Oxford, Woodbridge, and most of the little towns surrounding New Haven. Hope this helps.
