Does anyone know some who (or has letters, diaries,etc) lost everything when the Stock Market crashed in 1929--a riches to rags story? I have a friend who is writing a college-level U.S. history textbook, and wants to make the Depression real to students who use the textbook. My friend is a professor of history at the University of Connecticut; has contributed to other books; has written magazine articles; is a Lincoln scholar; and has authored a book on the Korean War.
