A list-posted "Thank You" to all who helped with my Hall, Wakelee, Nichols and Judd requests! By way of commentary...little did I suspect two years ago when I began checking my late Wallingford/Cheshire CT grandmother's Tuttle/Welton lines, that I would find such a voluminous yet "tight" gene-pool of New Haven Colony ancestors....six signers of the New Haven Fundamental Agreement of 1639 so far, and four of them twice...I've been able to find a number of them on the New Haven Settlement map....and I've discovered...a Montauk Indian from Southold, L.I.N.Y....and a number of founders of Stratford, and many Waterbury Weltons...and I'm beginning to plug in the Hartford Colony as well, and the Pequot War... What makes this especially exciting is that of my other three main lines, one is from the western Plymouth Colonie, and the other two are southern Washington County "Kingstowne" "Narragansett Country" Rhode Island lines...(where the King Phillip War-Great Swamp Fight was fought in 1675).. all of these lines are beginning to run together! I'm still confused by the CT Scott-Upson-Fuller connection, but it does seem that there's a tie-in with the Mayflower Surgeon Fuller, and....that implies that the King Phillip War of 1675 gave some of the Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay Colony participants an impetus to move to CT...and the Northampton, Hampshire County area of MA connects strongly to the Hartford Colony of the time, as it was a major place engaged in the King Phillip War as well.... I'm still rather amazed to find how many of my lines in the New Haven Colony, when traced back, overlap two, three, even four times...which suggests that a great many people did stay put for some 300 years... Again, thank you so much for your kind assistance! May I remind everyone of my Waterbury "Welton Wheel", printed approx. 1880, if I can help with lookups there, using the limited information on the wheel. Appreciatively, Barry Hale Browning New Haven Tuttle, Bristol, Dibble, Pardee, Ives, Frisbie, Scott, Prindle,Beadles, Cook, Hitchcock, Hall, Waklee, Nichols, Culver, Tyler, Curtis, Henbury, Ford, Bowers, Lathrop, etc. etc. Waterbury Welton, Scott, Upson, Fuller, etc. etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, January 04, 2002 10:39 PM Subject: Re: [CTNEWHAV] Barbour Lookup Requests: CT Hall, Wakelee, Nichols, Judd > Hi, > We connect on several lines. > > pg 693 "Ancient Families of New Haven" by Donald Lines Jacobus > > HALL, John of New Haven & Wallingford d: 1676 m Jane WOOLEN. > child 1 > John HALL b c.1644 bp 9 Aug 1646 NHC1; d: 2 September 1721 in WV;Deacon; > m 6 Dec 1666 NHV Mary dau Edward & Elizabeth PARKER bp 27 Apr 1648 NHC1; d 23 > Sep 1725 WV > Child 7 > John HALL b 14 Mar 1681 WV d: 27 April 1766 age 86 WT1;Deacon ; m 28 > June 1707 WV - Elizabeth dau of Nathaniel & Sarah Lathrop ROYCE b 28 Dec 1689 > d 2 Sep 1755 age 66 WT1 > Family 4 > John & Elizabeth (ROYCE) HALL > child 2. > John, b 28 Dec 1712 WV, d 22 May 1794 CC; Capt., Census (C) 1-0-1; m (1) 11 > June 1739 WV - Abigail ____, wid Thomas Russell of Bd, who d 29 Aug 1777 CC > Child 2 > Jared, b 19 July 1741 WV, bp Nov 1741 CC,d 6 May 1792 age 51 CT1; census (C) > 3-2-6; m 5 July 1770 WV - Lucy dau Samuel & Sarah (Hall) Hull, b 24 Jan > 1747 WV, d 5 Oct 1831 age 85 WatT2 > > Family 17 Jared & Lucy (HULL) HALL > child 8 > Jared Selah, b 11 Apr 1788 CV, d 2 Mar 1853 age 65 WatT2; m (1) 2 Mar 1817 > WatV - Rowena dau. of Zephna Parker, who died 2 Nov 1832 WatV, age 37-2-5 > WatT2; > > abbrev. > Bd - Branford > C- Cheshire > CC - Congregational Society Cheshire > CT1 - Old Graveyard Cheshire > NHC1 - First Congregational Society, New Haven > NHV - New Haven Vitals > WT1 - Center Street Cemetery Walllingford > WV -Wallingford Vitals > WatV - Waterbury Vitals > WatT2 - East Farms Cemetery Waterbury > > Hope this helps. > Cary > > > .
