Springside Home was the old town farm (poor house or alms house} I think it was torn down sometime in the 1950's. The historical society put a picture of the place in the paper and I saved it but of course, now I cannot find it. It was a very large house at the corner of Wintergreen and Springside Avenues. If you are familiar with the area, it is where The New haven regional center was and the easter seals Rehab center--Right by the base of West Rock I was told that it had a pig farm but i am not sure how true that is. I will continue to search for the picture. Contact the New Haven Historical Society also and they might have some records. Judy
