I found the marriage of Philip Cronan and ann McNerney in the books at the vital records office and also in the books at st. Mary's Church in New haven. My question is--is this all that I can expect to find? Did they have to fill out anything like a license? This was 1857 and I am very grateful to have found this marriage listed. The vital records listing only has brides parents names listed {I already knew their names} and groom's parents is left blank{that was what I was looking for} Church record has witnesses and nothing more.
