My Amann family immigrated to Meriden in steps beginning in 1881 (the father/husband Morand Amann came over first and then the mother Elise and their two children Mathilde (my great-grandmother) and Louis immigrated in about 1886). I know there are other Amann families residing in Meriden, or who have lived in Meriden in the past, and I would be interested in learning if we are related in any way. I know that Elise and the two children were born in Etobon, Alsace region in what is now France. But I don't know where Morand came from. His death certificate is blank (well, it has a wavy line in the space for Birthplace - Town), although it does claim that he was born in France.
