Frederick Joseph Wallace was one son of Benjamin Wallace (6 Mar 1833-6 Nov 1918) and Elizabeth J Eastman (25 Sep 1835-19 Apr 1866). Born 9 Sep 1858 in Wallace Hill, near Townsend, Massachusetts. He moved to Meriden, Connecticut in 1876 at age 18. Lived on Cheshire Street originally. Met and married Carrie Emogene Brooks sometime before 1889. They had 5 children but only one survived past childhood: Harriet Belle Wallace (12 Dec 1889-1 Apr 1984) Wheeler Wallace (bef 1889-in childhood) Edward Wallace (bef 1889-in childhood) Carrie Wallace (bef 1889-in childhood) Baby Wallace (bef 1889-in childhood) FJ Wallace owned Patten and Wallace (retail provision business) and was elected President, Retail Butcher's Association abt 1890. Later he traveled for Landers, Frary, & Clark and for Chaplin Manufacturing on Britannia Street. After 1919, he owned a hardware store at 443 Colony Street and lived at 34 Kensington Avenue. He died on 7 Dec 1933 from a heart attack in Meriden, New Haven, Connecticut at age 75 . He was buried in in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden, Connecticut by the Bradley home, 45 Butler Street on a Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. His burial was presided over by Rev. George L.
