    3. Hello: I have been running a Parkins and Perkins Y DNA study. In the course of the study, we have learned that Edward Perkins and his descendants are NOT related to the John Perkins and Isaac Perkins lines of MA and NH. Their Y DNA signatures are from different haplogroups which means they are not descended from the same ancestors. Details are on the web page at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~scperkins/PerkinsDNA.html We are now looking to test male Perkins named descendants of Rev William Perkins of Topsfield, MA. Rev William is named as a half-brother to Edward Perkins of New Haven in a diary excerpt published in the Connecticut Magazine in about 1921. He is also so named in the book, Descendants of Edward Perkins of New Haven. Comparison of the results of a Y DNA test on a descendant of Rev William will answer the question of the possible relationship. We also are interested in testing descendants of Edmund Perkins of Boston, MA. Regards, Steven C. Perkins SPerkins@interaccess.com http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~scperkins/
