Hello, I forgot to add a message to my e-mail about Union City. A few weeks ago the Lithuanian Club of Waterbury suffered a tragic blow. The Club building along with most of their records and photographs were lost in a fire. This is more than 100 years of history of Lithuanian immigrants in Waterbury. If anyone out there has records they can copy and send to the Lithuanian club. I'm sure they would appreciate it. My family is from Ireland and I think the best parallel I can come up with is the destruction of large amounts of genealogical material in the Anglo Irish war in 1920-21. Many records were found to have remained at the county level and they could piece together some of the lost material. pete greene
Can you supply the address to send items to? I do have a few Lithuanian documents I would be more than willing to send them. sandee@ionet.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "PETER GREENE" <peter.greene@snet.net> To: <CTNEWHAV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 11, 2003 2:02 AM Subject: [CTNEWHAV] Lithuanians in Naugatuck and Waterbury > Hello, > > I forgot to add a message to my e-mail about Union City. > > A few weeks ago the Lithuanian Club of Waterbury suffered a tragic blow. > > The Club building along with most of their records and photographs were > > lost in a fire.
