I don't know if it is possable for you to find this informationn or not-but will give it a shot. My mother was taken in by an Orphanage that was owned by the church. I believe it was Hamden, Ct. It is very close to Woodbridge and New Haven. Not being from the area I was not certain if it was Hadam or Hamden. The Orphanage was practically across the street from a Mountain called "The Sleeping Giant". She remembered the children were allowed an outing on Sundays and were taken up "The Sleeping Giant". That is problem #1-Name of the correct town where the Orphanage was located. #2-She believed it was with either the Cong. Church or the Methodist Church. Someone had to pay for their board and room. #3-Her sister, Irene was adopted. Where would I find copies of the Adoption Papers on Irene (trying to get information on teh parents) I remember the family that adopted her. #4 How would I find records on a now defunct Orpnanage? The time she was admitted was approx 1910. Is ther an address of anything like tThe Childrens Court"? Who would I apply to??? Thank you for your help.
