I am trying to connect a William Shortall living in Meriden City in 1900 with my family in Ireland. Summary: William Shortall, son of Patrick or John married Mary Anne Bacon in Mountmellick Co Laois (formerly Queen's County), Ireland in 1869. Children born in Mountmellick - Anne 1871, Patrick 1874, Mary Elizabeth 1875, John 1877. Child born in Connecticut - William 1885. 1900 USA Census - Family living at 1 Mothe? Place, Kenden township, Meriden City. William immigrated to the USA in 1883 and Mary, Elizabeth, Annie and Patrick immigrated in 1884. John wasn't listed in the census in 1900. William was listed as a gardener in 1885 on William's birth and in the 1900 census. Family story - William died in America and left 4 children - Lillie, Annie, Pat and Willie who were alive in 1957. Has anyone any information on this family? I would welcome guidance on how to proceed to find descendents and / or other information.
